Although we moved to a new home, our style naturally moved along with us too. One of my favorite doors at the #markermasseria was the Dutch Door that connected our family room to the mudroom. When considering the overall vibe of Kate Marker Interiors, I always describe it as being “Classic Interiors with a Fresh Modern Feel”. My inspiration comes from various motifs but the English Country look is one I always look to— hence the Dutch Door use and other stylistic choices that come through in other elements.

On the first floor, there’s a variety of arched entryways so having mirrored arched doorways was the move for us. The wood selection for the various styles includes the classic KMI pick, white oak. As I had previously mentioned, I selected four arched white oak doors, one set of white oak French Doors, and a Dutch Door that was ordered in a paint grade since it was going to get a fresh coat.
Naturally, each of our KMI projects is uniquely their own since they’re specially curated per client! With the French doors off the primary suite, whether you’re on the outside looking in or vice versa, the view is a hard one to beat. When we moved in, we hadn’t had the pleasure of experiencing this home during the summer yet but that has since changed! We were counting down the days when we would be able to open up the doors and what a joy it’s been. I’ve loved getting into a routine of enjoying the patio morning and night. Ken and I’s own personal retreat!
The last time we chatted about the exterior of the home, the finishing touches were still in the works since it was winter. But as the weather ebb and flow throughout spring and summer, the countdown to getting this finalized was ON. Now, I’m thrilled to finally showcase the landscaping for this village charmer!
When we first toured this house, I remember taking note of this space’s possibilities— how the final version of this garage conversion would look. It turned out to be just that and more!
